This game was originally received as a "Trial" included with another PC game and was played until the trial expired. This trial period was enough to cause the player to purchase the game in order to continue. This is a very simple but challenging game. The game is played by matching 3 or more jewels in a vertical or horizontal row at which time they disappear and jewels above them drop down to replace them, including new jewels at the top of the board. When matches are made, the background for each jewel that disappears is turned to gold and to win the level, all backgrounds must be turned to gold. The game has 5 levels and each level has up to 5 segments to complete. I have been playing in spare time for months and haven't completed the game yet. This game is so challenging that you can't just give up and quit. You can only take a break and come back to it. Once a segment or level is completed, you know you can conquor this game and get the feeling of accomplishment. It is very addictive and also frustrating. I have played some segments of a level at least 10 times over and over before finishing it. This game is highly recommended for those that have the time to sit at the computer but not for those that do not have the time or allow it to replace other quality time.Read full review
I enjoy the match 3 games, so decided to pick this one up on eBay. I have enjoyed it thoroughly, and find it is addictive, if I don't watch the RL clock. You can use strategy, or just match what you see. I tend to play it in the evening, when I don't want to think as much as with some of the puzzle games. My biggest complaint with the game, is no way to "help" yourself along, by being able to remove a piece, such as is available with games such as "Big Kahuna Reef, or Atlantis Quest. This does create more of a challenge though, so may be a plus for those avid "gamers". Overall, this is just a nice way to relax from a day at work, or kill a little time, before needing to move on to other things.
I purchased Jewel Quest for the second time. I had the game in the past and lost it when we moved. I just had to have it again. It can become addicitive for a passive person like myself. I am not into the shooting and car crashing games that alot of todays games portray. It is good for slow relaxing times. I enjoy that the boards in the game change to different experience levels. Some of them get to be pretty hard. But I enjoy them all the same. I do not think I have reached the end of the game yet but look forward to doing that sometime in the future. Overall it is an enjoyable game good for most ages. Gives children a chance to match their objects and learn while playing. The price is not usually too much either.
I enjoy the different type of puzzles but I was disappointed when I conquered the 1st level & went on thinking I would have different scenery and got the same scenery just harder puzzles. I felt the character is on a quest and how much of a quest is he going on if he is just returning to the same places with difficult puzzles?? I wanted the scenery around him to change. You can play this game with other people on line but I've never done that. I bought this by mistake. I got 2 games for about $15.00 so I wasn't disappointed however; I had to stop playing because I got so addicted and played them so much that when I talk to people and blink my eyes, all I see is diamonds or oranges skulls with blue eyes!! LOL!!! I bought and am waiting on Jewel Quest 3. I just have to pace myself and not get addicted like I did with the previous two.Read full review
This is an addiction, reasonable priced game. It takes hours to solve. The point make groups or three or more gems or items of the same type. They will then disappear and more drop down. The background changes to show that you have cleared that section of the board. The upper levels are hard once you have cycled through all the maps. When the meanies show up it gets very difficult. A friend and I have been playing for months now.
